Man does not cease to play because he grows old.
Man grows old because he ceases to play
George Bernard Shaw

We will miss him.

This weekend we will acknowledge the life and times of Phil McDonald, our good friend and neighbour for the past 10 years. His passing will leave an empty spot in our lives but he will certainly never be forgotten.

Phil was as much a part of our cabin as the trees themselves, it will never be the same without him.

We built our cabin just as our dad passed, Phil stepping in to fill the role to perfection, his advice, encouragement, support, wisdom and always with a caring heart.

The success of Men is not measured by their wealth or possessions but by the size of their heart, and willingness to give of themselves, Phil was a giant amongst men.
He welcomed us as though we were family, which explains why we all feel like we have lost part of ours.

Phil was always available to help us out. Whether we needed a road report, a ride to our cabin or help getting a dead atv started he was there.

The one thing we will miss the most, will be his stories. With every visit we got the another glimpse into his life with new anecdotes. They were priceless. Many have become part of our Cabin lore, told and retold for the benefit of people who had not met him.

For years, Phil bugged me by asking "When was I going to move up". He truly loved living at his cabin. My one regret is not going fishing with him. He asked me many times but I never found the time.

we will miss him,

Spring Trip May 2014

Excellent spring conditions for ATVs. Barry, Pete, Jim and Tye found lots of puddles to drown their quads in. Don't seem to be any incriminating photos though!

Found that the beaver dam had broke and dropped the lake a couple of feet.

The Orca is a little further from water now.

Installed new counter top and sink.

New cabinet installed.
